Kristin Vess, CPCS | Founder, Vess Backstage
More than 21 years ago, I stumbled into the world of Medical Staff Professionals—fresh-faced, enthusiastic, and surrounded by giant paper files, fax machines, and phone calls to state licensing boards.
I thought it would be a temporary stop on my way to a career in early childhood education. Little did I know I’d stumbled into my true calling!
Over the years, I’ve helped organizations go paperless, navigated the ever-changing world of healthcare credentialing, and discovered that I love creating better processes almost as much as I love helping people grow.
As a Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist, former Director of System Credentialing and Medical Staff Services, and President Elect of the Texas Society for Medical Services Specialists, I’ve had the privilege of leading teams, supporting healthcare professionals, and sharing my knowledge from the conference stage.
And speaking of stages, when I’m not immersed in credentialing, you’ll probably find me rehearsing for a community theatre production, singing karaoke, chasing my two children, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or trying to remember where I put my keys.
Vess Backstage brings my two favorite worlds together: the precision of credentialing and the magic of theatre.
